Slaton, local schools to conduct open houses

Area schools have set their annual Meet the Teacher Nights for the 2023-24 school year.

Slaton ISD will have its open house from 5:30-7 p.m. Aug. 10. This year, all four schools will conduct their open houses on the same night.

Wilson High School will host its annual event Aug. 17 from 6-7 p.m. Students will be able to meet their teachers and learn about the upcoming year. The school’s annual Meet the Mustangs night will also be conducted.

Roosevelt will host its Meet the Teacher Night at Roosevelt Elementary from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday (Aug. 14).

This year’s theme is #Ready, Action, Eagles!

RHS will also welcome its 2023-24 freshmen with Fish Camp Aug. 14 from 10:30 a.m.-noon at the school. Students will receive their schedules, learn about high school credits, teacher expectations and end of year exams.

Southland ISD did not list an open house as of press time Tuesday (Aug. 8)
