Tigers, Mustangs to celebrate homecoming

The Slaton Tigers and Wilson Mustangs will be celebrating homecoming this week.

Slaton’s theme this year is “Here’s to a Sweet Homecoming,” which featured a parade and carnival Wednesday (Sept. 27), and regular school activities.

The Homecoming King was crowned Wednesday evening, while the queen will be announced Friday evening (Sept.29) at halftime. 

Both honorees will be in next week’s edition.

The homecoming pep rally will be Friday afternoon from 2:45-3:35 p.m. 

Wilson will annual bonfire Thursday at 7:30 p.m., then a homecoming pep rally at 1 p.m. Their court will be announced before the game. Game starts at 7:30 p.m.

Slaton will face Friona for its homecoming game, while Wilson will play Cotton Center. Games are as of press time Tuesday (Sept. 26).
