Bobby Jane Teeter Gass, 95, of Lubbock, passed away on Sunday morning, Oct. 29, 2023. 

Viewing will be 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at Englunds Chapel.  A Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at Englunds Chapel. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens in Woodrow.  Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. 

Bobby was “Mammy” to her grands and greats, but to many long-time friends, it was B. J. She was born on Sept. 2, 1928, in Memphis, Texas to Walter Edward and Edna Marie Teeter. She attended school in O’Donnell and graduated in 1945 with the high honor of Valedictorian. 

Bobby Jane married Gordon Gass on Sept. 16, 1946, and they celebrated their 76th Anniversary before Gordon’s passing in 2016. 

Bobby Jane worked in the medical field for 51 years, finally retiring at the age of 86. She resided at Callander House Assisted Living and received loving care for 5-1/2  years.  

We would like to thank Judy, Irene, Brooklyn, Myria and Debbie. She was also under the care of Direct Home Health and Hospice, and we want to say a special thanks to Sarah, Olivia, Carla, Christine and Arianna. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Meals on Wheels or your favorite charity.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Gordon Gass; her daughter, Kathey Jane Diggs; her sister, Katherine Stephens; and her brothers, Edward and James Teeter.

Bobby Jane is survived by her son, Billy Gass (Lynette) of Comfort; her daughters, JaNette Gass, Gorla Gass and Frana (Ron) Bartley, all of Lubbock; along with grandchildren, Jill Barnwell (Alan), Donovan Dunn, B.J. Gass, Amy Stehling (Jacob), Stuart Bartley (Lindsey) and Lane Bartley (Branda); and twelve great-grandchildren, Ryan Barnwell, Ashtyn Bartley, Jaxson Bartley, Brynlyn Barnwell, Kaydence Stehling, Wyatt Gass, Dax Stehling, Alyssa Dunn, Lucy Stehling, Logann Bartley, Olivia Stehling, and Maddox Bartley.
