City approves bid for Woodrow Road repairs

The City of Slaton Board of Trustees approved a bid for JST Concrete and Dirt Works for the Woodrow Road Paving Improvements Monday evening (Nov. 13) during its regular monthly meeting.
City Manager Wade Willson said they had several good bids. for the project, which included estimates for a pavement road or a concrete road.
He said the concrete bid came in at $689,987.64, which was lower than the original estimate of $773,000.
He added the bid was qualified to ensure there were no errors, and thanked the County for giving the City $1 million to work on the road.
Woodrow Road will be torn out, with the new road installed and have curbs and gutters.
