SISD Trustees hear updates

The Slaton Independent School District Board of Trustees heard updates on several items Tuesday (Nov. 7) during its monthly meeting.

The winners of the annual Christmas Card Decorating contest were also announced. The winners were Holden Talkmitt for Cathelene Thomas Elementary, CTE student Anaiya Reyes as the District winner, Cruzito Martinez for Junior High and Allison Fuentes for High School.

The Board heard updates from Athletic Director Clint Conkin about sports. He said the girls basketball team was in full swing and football was to play in Bi-District. He added he was proud of the team for advancing.
