Small Town Christmas celebrates seasonal food, fun

From Staff Reports

Food, festivities and fun filled the square Saturday (Dec. 2) during the annual Small Town Christmas.

Guests enjoyed a variety of booths and activities including roasting marshmallows, food trucks, music from a variety of school choirs and bands.

They could even visit the Grinch and Santa Claus.

The winners of the tree decorating contest were announced earlier in the day.

They were Lil’ Tigers Playhouse – Best Original Theme; Slaton Bakery – Most Creative; Stephen F. Austin Primary – Most Fun; and Slaton Animal Hospital – Most Fun.

A total of 21 trees were built, raising $210 for Slaton Meals on Wheels.
