The Slaton Independent School District Board of Trustees heard the 2022-23 Texas Academic Performance Report and conducted a public hearing Thursday evening (Feb. 8) during its monthly meeting.

Assistant Superintendent Christopher Carter gave a breakdown of the scores for each test: English/Language arts, Science, Math, and Social Students, giving the percentages of approaches, reaches and mastery of the tests.

He also compared the results to the Region and State numbers for the tests. Carpenter said the District was working on goals to help improve the scoring all around for all campuses.

The public hearing was conducted at 9:18 p.m. and when no one spoke, it was closed at 9:19 p.m.

Trustees approved the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Request for extra-curricular status for 4-H and Extension staff adjunct faculty status. Superintendent Shelli Crow said this is done every year so it can be seen as extracurricular.
