Hester named new Slaton Police Chief

The City of Slaton has a new police chief.

The City announced Ross Hester had been selected the next Chief of the Slaton Police Department in a statement released Friday (March 15).

He officially started Monday (March 18) and visited local groups such as the Slaton Lions Club.

Hester has more than 30 years of law enforcement experience. 

He previously served as the Chief of Police for the City of Littlefield and began his career with the Lubbock Police Department. 

Hester is a Master Certified Peace Officer for the State of Texas and is a Texas Tech University graduate.

The City hosted a meet and greet with Hester Tuesday (March 19) at the City Hall for people to meet the new Police Chief. A pinning ceremony was also conducted.
