Cotton named Teacher on the Rise for March

Fifth graders at Cathelene Thomas Elementary School Wednesday morning (April 2) were told they were going to have an assembly first thing in the morning.

They were not sure what they were having an assembly for – was it good or bad?

Come to find out – it was to honor one of their teachers – Kacie Cotton, as a March Mrs. Baird’s Teachers on the Rise honoree.

Shane Sumrow with Mrs. Baird’s said the group received 100 nominations from CTE alone this month to possibly honor their teachers. “That means you guys want to honor a lot of your teachers and it’s so fun to read all your nominations and hear all about the great things that are going on here,” he said.
