Libbie Jane Moore, 97, of Slaton, passed away peacefully at home and went to be with our Lord, Thursday Sept. 25, 2025.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025 at Bible Baptist Church in Slaton, followed by funeral service at 2. 

Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Services of Slaton.

She was born May 12, 1928 in Johntown, Texas. She graduated from Bogata High School.

She married Robert Edward Moore on July 28, 1947 in Cuthand, Texas. 

They moved to Slaton where they built their home and family. They were blessed with 73 years of marriage.

Libbie worked for the Slaton Care Center and Slaton Independent School District. 

She will be remembered mostly for being a wife, Mom, homemaker and friend to all.  She enjoyed quilting, embroidering and sewing as well as canning and making jelly. She was also a wonderful cook and was known for her pies and Christmas candy.  She will be remembered always with love and will be greatly missed.  She was a member of Bible Baptist Church Slaton and the Ladies Auxiliary of Bogota, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Vada Cox, husband Robert Edward Moore, five sisters, three brothers, grandson David Schmaltz and great granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Abromovitz.

Survivors include three daughters: Linda Schmaltz of Slaton, Deborah and husband Rick Polk of Decatur, Tracy Black of Slaton. Grandchildren: DaVonne’ Gentry, Shera Pflumm, Brandy Polk, Lance Polk and wife Sabrina Polk, Nikki and husband Titus Graham, Tyler and Maddie Black, Ashlea and husband Corey Tyree, 12 great grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
