SISD alerts public about how it conducts fundraisers

The Slaton Independent School District wants to remind people about their fundraisers and heed caution about sellers.

“Please be advised that Slaton ISD does not partner with or authorize any outside firms or consultants to raise funds for our school organizations or events,” it said in a Facebook post Wednesday (Oct. 1)

“If you are approached by anyone claiming to represent or work in cooperation with Slaton ISD for fundraising purposes, we strongly encourage you to contact the District directly before making any payments or contributions.

“Your vigilance helps us protect our students, staff, and community.

“Thank you for your continued support.”

The District number is 806-828-6591, and is open Tuesday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. It is closed on Mondays.
