Annual Chamber Trunk or Treat to be hosted Friday

Several groups in Slaton are celebrating Halloween in festive fashion this year.

Slaton Chamber of Commerce will again host its Trunk-or-Treat Oct. 31 on from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on the Square.

It will also feature its Trunk Contest, and is free.

The trunk decorating contest will be judged as well, with prizes for the top three trunks.

The fifth annual Halloween pet costume contest will be conducted during the event. Participants will need to stop by Slaton Animal Hospital’s trunk and have their pet(s) picture taken to enter. 

There will be prizes for several categories, as well as treats for humans and pets.

Slaton Methodist Church is hosting a trunk or retreat on Friday, Oct. 31 from 4:30-5:30 at the Church, 301 W. Lubbock St., just one block west of the Square. Come and enjoy Mike Mike’s train ride and the bounce house.

Cathelene Thomas Elementary School’s Fall Festival – Beetlejuice themed – was conducted Oct. 28 at the school.

The Slaton Care Center conducted their event will be Oct. 29.
