Slaton Celebrates Graduation Class of 2024
Slaton High School held its graduation on Thursday, May 23, 2024, and celebrated the graduation of eighty-one students, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another for the Class of 2024. Valedictorian, Miguel Molina, delivered an inspiring speech, sharing how he procrastinated on writing his speech until the last minute He emphasized the importance of preparing for the unexpected and the significant impact of one’s actions, “addition to make sure your actions do not have dire consequences, think about the pros and cons of the action you want to do and if the pros outweigh the cons go for it,” Molina said. Salutatorian, Emiley Garcia, also adressed her fellow graduates reflecting on the new opportunities that lie ahead. Garcia took a moment to recognize Wesley Rose, a standout student, who moved schools. “As you can see bright and exciting futures are not something that just happen,” said Garcia.
