Officer recovers after dog attack

Slaton Code Enforcement Officer Brad Murph has recovered and is back on the job after being mauled by two dogs last week.

Murph was dispatched to a call in the 300 block of E. Texas Avenue last Tuesdayon a report of dogs killing chickens.

As he was walking around to the area where the dogs were reported, two pit bulls attacked the officer.

Murph drew his service revolver and fired three shots, striking both dogs and killing them. He was taken to a Lubbock hospital with flesh wounds.
