A funeral procession consisting of about 54 Patriot Guard motorcycle riders along with police officers and volunteers escorted the unclaimed ashes of 17 soldiers to their final resting place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Along the way from Amarillo, they saw hundreds of American flags wave in the West Texas wind as students from Slaton Elementary, Junior High and High schools stood along the Hwy. 84 access route, saluted the fallen.
