Tax Poor Soup Night brings fun twist to stressful day

Folks met at a soup kitchen Monday evening at the Slaton Harvey House.

No, it wasn’t the 1930s soup kitchens, but a “Tax Poor Soup Night” hosted at the historic building.

People enjoyed vegetable or potato soup, corn bread and desserts as a fun way to tease about being in the “poor house” after paying taxes Monday.
