Humble Grounds, Texas 1809 soon to enhance downtown

Two businesses are counting down the days until they are ready for business in downtown Slaton.

Humble Grounds and Texas 1809, both offering food and beverage, will be located along 8th St. between the Slaton Railroad Museum and Slat-Co Printing.

Humble Grounds, located at 152 S. 8th St. had a coffee and food tasting Sunday (Feb. 2), to see what items were a hit and would be included in the shop’s offerings.

Texas 1809 will be located a few doors down from the eventual coffee shop at 154 S. 8th St. They have been working on building the business, including recently picking up restaurant equipment and Texas themed decorations.
