Ransom Canyon to host Chili, Dessert Cookoff Sunday

The Town of Ransom Canyon will be sponsoring a Chili Cookoff and Dessert Cookoff Sunday (Jan. 28) at 6 p.m. at the Ranch house.

The event is sponsored by Jacie Shackelford of Jacie Leigh Photography.

Participants are asked to bring a chili or dessert to share and/or vote for their favorites.

They will also have info on the different organizations in the neighborhood  to join.

Those attending are asked to bring a new unwrapped items to donate to The Children’s Advocacy Center such as bears, stuffed animals, books, blankets, and individually wrapped snacks.

Black History Month program set for Feb. 24

Together in Grace will present Black History Month Feb. 24 from 2-5 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 805 S. Flint St. in Slaton.

Refreshments will be served.
