City promotes officers, adjusts billing rates

Four Slaton Police Department officers received promotions as part of a busy City Commissioner Meeting Monday evening (April 8) at City Hall.

Chief of Police Ross Hester presented the officers with their new badges and stripes.

Tyler Jones was promoted to lieutenant, Joseph Kibitlewski was promoted to sergeant, David Carmargo was promoted to sergeant and Crystal Perchez was promoted to corporal.

Mayor Clif Shaw thanked the four for their service, especially during the past four months.

The Board approve a resolution on rates for trash and water.

City Manager Wade Willson said he tried to find ways to work out the rates for those in and outside the City limits on garbage. Republic has increased their fees by 3 percent, which began April 1.
