By:Jenna Howle
The vibrant spirit of Slaton is about to get a fresh boost with the launch of a new 4-H Club, set to kick off its inaugural meeting on September 9th. The meeting will be held at the First Baptist Church Activity Center. Beginning for a club that aims to cater to the diverse interests and passions of our local youth.
The 4-H Club is designed to engage and inspire students from 3rd through 12th grades, along with a special program for younger kids in kindergarten through 2nd grade known as Clover kids. This initiative has been a long-awaited addition to our community, reflecting the desires of many local families who have shown strong support for such a program.
During the first meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to voice their interests and preferences. The club’s leadership plans to take a collaborative approach, starting with this initial gathering to gauge the members’ interests. Whether it’s livestock projects, horticulture, or archery, the club is committed to shaping its activities around what the young members are passionate about.
The 4-H Club aims to offer a range of activities that will not only enhance the students’ skills in areas like agriculture and livestock but also provide a supportive environment where they can learn, grow, and have fun. With a focus on practical learning and personal development, the club promises to be a valuable addition to Slaton’s youth programs.
Community members are encouraged to attend the meeting, support the initiative, and get involved in shaping the future of the club. It’s a great opportunity for families to contribute to a project that promises to have a lasting positive impact on our young people.
Mark your calendars for September 9th and join us at the First Baptist Church Activity Center to be part of this exciting new chapter for Slaton’s youth. Together, let’s make the 4-H Club a vibrant and integral part of our community’s future.
