Slaton City Council Approves FYE 2025 Budget and Tax Rate

The Slaton City Council met on August 28, 2024, to approve the FYE 2025 Proposed Operating Budget, which includes a $12,948.81 or 0.82441% increase in property taxes, with $8,768.99 coming from new properties.
The meeting began at 5:32 p.m. with a public hearing that closed at 5:44 p.m. without comments. The council adopted Ordinance #831, approving the budget, and ratified the tax increase after discussing how it reflected in teh FYe 2025 Proposed Operating Budget.
They also passed Ordinance #832, adopting the Tax Rate for 2024. Additional items, including a program contract for administrative services and the annual ATMOS Energy rate adjustment, were also approved.
They entered Executive Session at 5:53. No action was taken in the Executive Session and it was closed at 6:43. The special meeting on August 28, 2024 adjourned at 6:43 p.m..
