By:Jenna Howle
The Slaton High School Class of 1984 is gearing up for a memorable 40th reunion, set to take place on September 28, 2024, at 5:00 PM. The gathering will be held at Heirloom Flowers and Gifts, promising an evening filled with nostalgia, good food, and cherished memories.
Guests will enjoy a delicious fajita meal catered for the occasion, complemented by music provided through Heirloom’s audio system. The reunion will run from 5:00 to 11:00 PM, allowing ample time for classmates to reminisce and catch up.
Before the main event, a tour of Slaton High School is scheduled for 3:00 PM on Saturday, offering attendees a chance to revisit the halls where they spent their formative years. Additionally, on Friday night, a group of classmates is invited to meet for a night out at the Slaton Tigers game in Morton, creating more opportunities to reconnect before the big celebration.
A heartfelt part of the reunion will be a memorial honoring classmates who have passed away since graduation. This tribute reflects the deep bonds formed during high school and the impact of those who are no longer with us. The Class of 1984 previously helped with Coach Kerr’s memorial, showcasing their commitment to honoring their roots and community.
Organizers Jo Carpenter Ray and Jeanne Swanner Terry encourage any classmates wishing to attend to reach out as soon as possible to ensure inclusion in the meal count. Interested attendees can contact Jo at [email protected] or Jeanne at [email protected].
This reunion promises to be a fun-filled evening of laughter, stories, and reconnections. The Class of 1984 looks forward to celebrating this significant milestone together, creating new memories while cherishing the past.
