In a heartfelt ceremony at the Lubbock Baseball Academy, the Slaton Branch of Catholic Life Insurance proudly presented both a U.S. Flag and a Texas Flag to the players and coaches at the Tracey Starkey Field in West Lubbock. This annual tradition, part of their Flag Day project, underscores the organization’s commitment to honoring local communities and the values of patriotism.
Tracey Starkey, a proud Slaton High School graduate, has left a lasting legacy in the community through her dedication to youth sports. The presentation of the flags serves as a tribute to her impact and the significance of the field named in her honor. As players and coaches gathered for the ceremony, the importance of teamwork, dedication, and community support resonated throughout the event.
“We are proud to support this sports field that not only provides a place for our youth to thrive but also commemorates a local graduate who has contributed so much to our community,” said a representative from the Slaton Branch of Catholic Life Insurance. “Presenting these flags is a way to foster a sense of pride and unity among the players, coaches, and families who use this field.”
The flags will fly proudly at Tracey Starkey Field, serving as a constant reminder of the values of hard work, sportsmanship, and community spirit. Each year, the Slaton Branch presents flags as part of their ongoing commitment to promoting these ideals and enriching the local community through meaningful initiatives.
