Slaton ISD Band

The Slaton High School Band will compete in the Area contest this Saturday at Lowrey Field, performing their show “The Iron Horse Coming Home,” which honors Slaton’s history. 

Along with their performance, the band is promoting donations to the Spirit of Slaton refurbishment project to restore the beloved landmark. The drumline recently won the Outstanding 3A-4A Drumline award on October 12th. The band aims to earn 2000 points in order to advance to the state contest in San Antonio on November 5-7. The last time Slaton earned a Division 1 rating was in 2020 under the direction of Mario Aguirre. 

The band has 11 seniors this year.
