Tigers crush Brownfield to move to 2-0

BROWNFIELD — Slaton Head Coach Jeff Caffey had one simple question  for his huddled team at the end of Friday’s domination of Brownfield.

“How do you like being 2-0?”

The answer to Caffey’s question could be heard across the field.

The Slaton Tigers racked up 437 total yards on offense and scored nine touchdowns in a 57-20 pasting of the Cubs.

“We finally hit on all cylinders,” Caffey said. “There are no words to describe it. We came to play and did well in all three phases of the game.”

The Tigers (2-0) used big plays through the air and on the ground taking a 35-14 lead into halftime.
