Tigers score last-minute win over Antelopes

The Slaton varsity football team continues to buck recent trends in this 100th year of Tiger football, including notching a long-awaited win in the War of 84.

Laz Galindo hit Eli Martinez on a 64-yard touchdown pass with 49 seconds left in the game to send the Tigers to a 16-15 triumph, their first win over Post since 2012.

The Tigers improved to 4-1, their best record through five games since 2006.

“It was big game,” said first-year Slaton Head Coach Jeff Caffey. “It was also more physical than some thought it would be.”
