Tigers roll up 70 points, set up district showdown
The Slaton Tigers had one final hurdle to clear before a showdown for the district championship.
The did it with plenty of room to spare.
The Tigers put up their biggest point total in well over a decade, crushing Muleshoe, 70-13, to set up a District Championship showdown with Shallowater Friday night.
“I have never been part of a team that scored 70 points,” said Head Coach Jeff Caffey. “We came in here determined and did a lot of things we worked on over the past two weeks and it’s all coming together.”
By all accounts, this is the first Slaton victory over Muleshoe in 100 years of Tiger football.
