Tiger Girls finish 4th, boys 5th in LCU Relays

The Slaton High School boys and girls Cross Country teams competed in the Lubbock Christian University Relays Saturday (Sept. 14).

The girls team finished fourth overall out of 20 teams.

Individual placements were Alice Cogburn, fifth; Mary Jo Parker, eighth; Kathryn Castillo, 30th; Natali Soto, 51st; Jazmyn Jackson, 66th; Emily Herrera, 76th; Kristen Chavarin, 91st; Emma Muniz, 101st; Justyne Zapata, 132nd; Isis Hernandez, 137th; Jaclyn Loera, 183rd and Jessica Sanchez, 187th.

The boys finished fifth place out of 18 teams.

Individual placements were  Zach Gonzales, seventh; Ishmael Gonzales, 20th; Elijah Culver, 34th; Curtis Holland, 65th; Isiah Chapa, 76th and Ivan Venzor, 127th.

The Junior High teams also competed with the boys finishing 13th as a team. The girls team did compete but did not have official results.

The cross-country teams will compete in at the Plainview ISD Invitational in Plainview on Saturday (Sept. 21) at Kidsville Park.
