Girls basketball finishes 2nd in Fantasy of Lights Tourney

Football season may be over, but the Slaton Tiger Basketball teams are in full swing, having competed in several games and tournaments the past few days.

The Girls won the Spur Tournament and also finished second in the Fantasy of Lights Tournament.

In the Spur Tournament, they defeated Spur 48-16, White Deer 37-24, New Deal 46-34, Hale Center 64-30, and Tahoka 68-11.

In the Fantasy of Lights Tournament, the Girls won against Taylor 47-23 and Haskell 48-42.

They went on to defeat Class 3A No. 1 ranked Chapel Hill before losing to 2A No. 1 ranked Martins Mill 68-43.

Named to the All Star Team for the Spur Tournament were Kamryn Gibbs, MVP; and Jazmyn Jackson and TK Robinson, all tournament.

Named to the Fantasy of Lights All Star Team were Mary Jo Parker and Robinson.

The Girls also won against Valley 47-38. They played New Deal Tuesday, and results will be in next week’s edition.
