Boys, Girls basketball teams win games against New Deal

The Slaton High School Boys and Girls basketball teams competed against New Deal last Tuesday (Dec. 3) at home.
Girls Team
The Girls won their game, 34-24. High point scorers were TK Robinson with 10 points and Mary Jo Parker with 9; Leading rebounder Kamryn Gibbs and Jazmyn Jackson with 6 each.
They played Post Tuesday (Dec. 10). Scores were unavailable at press time.
They will compete against the Sundown Roughnecks Friday (Dec. 13) before starting their District against Brownfield Dec. 17.

Boys team
The Boys team is currently 4-3.
They lost to Andrews 32-62 Nov. 19.
The team defeated Valley 51-37 Nov. 25. High scorers were Quevon McDaniel, 12, Hudson Sackett, 11, Braeden Gibbs, 8 and Camryn Nalley, 10.
The Boys team won their game against New Deal 67-58 on Dec. 3. High scorers were McDaniel with 23, Sackett with 13, and Mario Sanchez with 7.
They also competed in several other games the past few weeks.
In the Festival of Lights Tournament at Wichita Falls, the team defeated Troy 88-9 and Burkburnett JV 60-51.
The team lost against Cassady 48-77 and then Tolar 40-52.
The team played at home against Roscoe Tuesday (Dec. 10), but scores were unavailable at press time.
The team will next compete in the Floydada Whirlwind Tournament this weekend (Dec. 12-14).
