State Bound
Josh Chavarin was the first Tiger in Slaton High School history to be named Regional Champion, winning first in the 148 pound weight division at the Region I, Division III Regional Powerlifting Meet in Sundown. Also medaling were Eddie Betancourt with fourth place in the 148 pound weight class and Colton Engle, fifth place medalist in the 123 pound weight class. As a team, the Tigers finished fourth out 50 schools that competed. Chavarin will compete in the State Powerlifting Meet. The original date for the state meet has been postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak; however, it will be set for another date. Also competing were Toby Crabb, Landen Simmons, Chris Rader and TJ Payne.
