Teams win honors at Tennis Tournament

The Slaton High School Tennis Team competed in its first tournament this season last Tuesday (Feb. 9) at the DC Spring Fling in Denver City. Left, Mykah Lamberson and Jeredan Wallingsford placed first in mixed pairs while, right, Sebastian Betancourt and Issac Ruiz placed second in men’s pairs. Other teams also qualified for title games, though fell short in the match. The team will play next in the Shallowater tournament Friday (Feb. 19) at Shallowater, weather permitting.
