Council swears in officer, hears readings
The City of Slaton welcomed a new police officer as he was sworn in Monday evening during its regular meeting. Mayor Dubbin Englund swore in Thomas Higgins, who started his first day Monday. The City of Slaton saw an increase in its sales tax rebate compared to the previous year’s month totals. Slaton received $67,621.45 in February, a 14.49 percent increase from February 2018.
